New TV Show, Toolfair, Karting

This week I’m very pleased to announce details of a new TV show I’ve helped develop, which should be on Motors TV (Sky channel 447) early December.

For some time I’ve been keen to do a show about Rental Karting, and with the help of Rugby Kart Club and the Sutton Circuit, we have devised a ‘made for TV’ challenge including some good drivers!

I’ve been commentating on several shows for Motors TV this year, including the Bridgestone BSMA motocross series, MX Nationals, British Minibike Championship and WOR Enduro events; and I think Rental Karting has potential to develop into a TV sport, it is also one of the few forms of motorsport that is accessible for most of the general public.

Thanks have to go for Clark Cowell from Rugby Kart Club for his help, and of course to Geoff and the team at Sutton Circuit for allowing us to use their venue.

It’s one of the Midlands most enjoyable karting tracks and well worth a go.

Ps… if you want to be on TV, there are still some places on the grid! Contact Rugby Kart Club for more details!

Thursday and Friday saw me at the Toolfair trade show, taking place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

I made a few sales and raised some interest in MACC, hoping that this continues! If you want to find out more about MACC or any of the products, let me know!

Karting ‘Tour’

Seeing as I was in the area, Saturday saw me pay a visit to the new karting venue at Daytona Tamworth.

This used to be known as Priory Park, and never really seemed like a track worth visiting. However it was taken over by the Daytona group recently and has been transformed into a great venue.

Challenging track which was a bit bumpy in places and some tricky off-camber corners. It was my first ever go at this track and was pleased to turn some good lap times… despite under steering of the track on the track’s very fast right hander! Luckily I was able to get out of trouble… despite mowing the grass!

It was then back down the A5 to the Sutton Circuit to make further plans for the TV show… and couldn’t resist turning a few laps! Two tracks in one day, I certainly got about!
